Founded in 2020, Flint Hills Research and Evaluation is an independent consulting firm working with K12 and higher education, local, state, and federal government, and non-profit agencies. We specialize in strategic planning, research and evaluation by offering tailored services to fit any need.
Meet Dr. Katie Allen
Dr. Katie Allen is a mixed-methods researcher in client-centered strategic planning and comprehensive program evaluation. She has worked with local, state, and federal government, non-profit organizations, as well as individuals who seek specific technical expertise. Katie employs a collaborative approach and is passionate about helping her clients translate knowledge into impactful action.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Allen has contributed to projects focused on education-from early childhood to adult professional learning, agriculture and water, community health, STEM, and youth positive development, leadership development, and more. In addition to research, Dr. Allen teaches a course for adult professionals on Improvement Science and contributed to the profession as a member of the American Evaluation Association and the American Educational Research Association. She adheres to the Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation.
Dr. Allen is certified by the CITI program in the Responsible Conduct of Research, with a focus on social and behavioral responsible conduct of research. Additionally, Katie is certified by the What Works Clearing House Group Design Standards for experimental and quasi-experimental design and obtained the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate focused on continuous improvement processes.
